Læsø Fiskeindustri (LF)



A/S Læsø Fiskeindustri (LF) is an fishers owned shareholding company, which is the world’s leading producer of scampi, is located on the island of Læsø, in the middle of the Kattegat. Apart from scampi, A/S Læsø Fiskeindustri also produces and distributes a range of delicious brine products, fillets and smoked products. A/S Læsø Fiskeindustri always aims to match the exceptional quality of the fish used in production with correspondingly high standards of quality within the areas of inspection and food safety. This applies throughout the entire process chainfrom catching, processing, packing and distributing to the individual consumer at home or abroad. Since its foundation in 1963 A/S Læsø Fiskeindustri has established several subsidiaries. The main factory is at Læsø, but the company has large production facilities in Skagen and Frederikshavn in Denmark and Peterhead in Scotland.

Role of LF in SOCIOEC

LF is in particular related to the work done in the Kattegat case study and in the North Sea case study but also in general to the North Sea case study. LF will also facilitate the collaboration with fishermen. LF will provide participants from its membership to take part in the case study workshops for North Sea and especially on the fisheries in the Kattegat. Additionally, they will take part in the interviews (see WP3) to assess incentives of management measures.

Description of Personnel involved in the project

The chairman of the board and fishing skipper Gregers Jacobsen together with the financial manager Svend Ole Larsen will take part in the project.
